Physostegia virginiana 'Pink Manners'

'Pink Manners' is a well-behaved, clump-forming perennial that reaches 3'. It features soft pink buds opening to lavender-pink blossoms from midsummer to autumn. Hummingbirds and butterflies love its nectar and its strong form and color look great massed in the middle of a garden.

INTERESTING FACTS

Some members of the genus Physostegia are commonly called obedient plants because each individual flower will, upon being moved in any one direction, temporarily remain in the new position as if it were hinged.

GROWING TIPS

 

Easy to grow in full sun or light shade. Plant in well-drained, consistently moist soil. Does not tolerate drought so needs to be watered in dry spells. A light summer mulch helps retain soil moisture and keeps roots cool.
