DESCRIPTION

Blue Stem Goldenrod
Solidago caesia

Compact and clump-forming, this Goldenrod is a late summer delight that features tiny, yellow, daisy-like flowers that form loose clusters in leaf axils all the way along its greenish-purple stems. Incredibly attractive to native bees and butterflies, it is a perfect low-maintenance grouping plant!

INTERESTING FACTS

Goldenrod species tend to be blamed for late summer and fall allergies, but their pollen is too sticky and heavy to cause seasonal allergies. Plants that cause seasonal allergies have lightweight, wind-borne pollen that's easily spread into the air and the respiratory tract.

Thrives in average to moist soil in full sun. Tolerates partial shade, drought, and poor-quality soils.
