Dense form makes this low grower a perfect groundcover while its bright red new foliage lights up the landscape in spring before turning deep green in summer.  Pinkish-white, bell shaped flowers attract hummingbirds and butterflies in May while the dark colored fruit is enjoyed by birds and humans!

Interesting Facts

Very few shrubs are affected by sunlight more than this plant that stays 3' tall in sun and produces berries heavily. In a shaded landscape it can reach 10' tall and, while producing less berries, it makes an excellent evergreen hedge.
