Pineneedle milkweed has interesting, pine-like foliage and unusual flower clusters that attract butterflies and other insects. Bright, white flower clusters emerge in springtime and bloom through fall. It’s extremely drought tolerant and will even tolerate reflected heat. Plant with penstemon for a pop of color.

Interesting Facts

Milkweeds are well known as food plants for Monarch butterfly larvae. They absorb the milkweed poisons without being harmed thus making larvae and adult butterfly unpalatable to preditors. 


Prune early in the season if needed.
