Originating from the self-pollinated seed of the plant H. 'Low Down', 'Autumn Gold' really shines with a carpet of 2" diameter blooms with yellow rays and dark brown center cones. Attractive foliage and massive September - October bloom make this an excellent addition any pollinator garden!
Found in rocky outcrops with heavy soil.

Prefers average, well-drained soils. Grows best with added moisture but can tolerate drought. Allow seed heads to remain for winter food for birds. Divide clumps in spring or fall every 3 to 4 years.

Full sun: Prefers six or more hours of direct sunshine a day
Partial shade: Thrives in three to six hours of daily sunshine
Shade: Generally does well with less than three hours of sun per day. Having said that even shade loving plants will struggle in extremely deep shade.
