Chrysogonum virginianum 'Allen Bush'

Chrysogonum ‘Allen Bush has a more compact habit and more flowers than the species. Light green, triangular leaves are the perfect backdrop for the star-shaped, golden flowers. It blooms abundantly in the spring and fall and sporadically through the heat of summer. This is a great groundcover for woodland gardens, edging along paths and shady perennial borders.

Prefers moist, acidic, organically rich soils in sun-dappled part shade. spreads by rhizomes but not aggressively. Tolerant of sunny sites as long as the soil is kept moist and well-drained.
