Fairy Duster is remarkable when it begins to bloom. Long, pink to light purple stamens are very showy. It flowers mainly in the spring and then off and on the rest of the season, depending on the rain. It is a marvelous plant for erosion control. Attracts all kinds of birds and butterflies.

Native Range

Grows in sandy washes and on dry gravelly slopes and mesas below 5000 ft. Widely distributed from southeastern California through southern Arizona and New Mexico to western Texas, and in Mexico.
