Coreopsis verticillata 'Golden Showers'

‘Golden Showers’ is a much loved, easy to grow perennial. Large, golden yellow flowers bloom from early to late summer to the delight of butterflies. The spent flowers contain seeds that songbirds find irresistible, especially finches. This star performer was giving the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit in 2000.

Native Range

Native distribution is from Maryland to South Carolina and west to Kentucky and Tennessee. Found on the edge of woods and pine savannahs.

GROWING TIPS

A lovely perennial for the full sun. It is adaptabled to both dry and moist growing conditions, but will not tolerate any standing water. Drought tolerant once established, makes an ideal choice for a low-water garden. It is not particular as to soil pH, but grows best in poor soils.
