Graceful, evergreen leaves have captivating curly white filaments along their edges. Tall stems of coral-red blooms rise 4’ or more and flower all summer attracting hummingbirds in droves. Red yucca requires virtually no maintenance and is perfectly xeric once established. Great accent plant for the full sun.

Native Range

Native to the Texas Rio-Grande area and northern Mexico. Found in prairies, rocky slopes, and mesquite groves, mostly in Central Texas. Well-drained sand, loam, caliche, limestone.

Interesting Facts

Although many people use hummingbird feeds to attract these little wonders the best way to attract hummingbirds is to plant plants that provide nectar, their natural food source. Hummingbirds are attracted to red flowers and tubular-shaped blooms like red yuccas.
