Potentilla fruticosa 'Coronation Triumph'

'Coronation Triumph' is a heavy blooming selection with bright yellow flowers on a dense mounded plant. The flowers bloom from mid-spring until the first frost and are a great nectar source for butterflies and other insects. It offers excellent foliage all season long and has an extremely long blooming period.

Bogs, fens calcareous outcrops summits and tundra from Newfoundland to the Northwest Territories and Alaska south to California and New Mexico (in the mountains) to Illinois and New Jersey in the east.

Potentilla's long bloom time makes for great, long-term butterfly viewing in the landscape.

GROWING TIPS

Will grow in sun to light shade but flowers best in full sun. Prefers moist, well-drained soil but grows well in poor dry sites, too. Very cold tolerant. To keep a dense rounded habit, cut the entire plant back every two to three years. This type of renewal pruning should be done when the plant is dormant in late winter.
