DESCRIPTION
Trumpet HoneysuckleLonicera sempervirens 'Major Wheeler'
This mounding vine explodes into bloom in late May with clouds of fragrant, tube-shaped, deep red flowers to attract a crowd of butterflies, native bees and hummingbirds. Bright red fruit forms in summer to the delight of countless birds and its clean foliage and long bloom are prized by humans.

INTERESTING FACTS
Hummingbirds, like all birds, have virtually no sense of smell. The flowers that attract them tend to have little fragrance but instead tend to direct their resources toward high visibility and high nectar content to keep pollinators happy.
GROWING TIPS
Honeysuckle likes light, good air circulation, and adequate drainage. Some structural assistance is necessary to help it begin climbing. Flowers best when given full sun.
